Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD)

Hello and welcome to the Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD), Inc., Prince George’s County chapter’s website. We are so excited to invite you to explore our site and learn more about who we are and what T-L-O-D is.  Through our website, we are delighted to share information about our programs and projects including our mission statement, organizational goals and upcoming programs and public events.

Serving others through volunteerism has been a part of the TLOD culture since our inception in 1964.  We invite you to participate in the various public programs and activities we offer throughout neighboring communities of Prince George’s County (Md.).  We also invite you to inquire about membership into the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Prince George’s County Chapter.

TLOD is a 501©3 non-profit, national humanitarian volunteer organization which has five (5) major program thrusts and several national projects. TLOD’s national program thrusts include improving the status of women, directly engaging in community beautification, enhancing the lives of senior citizens, fostering community partnerships and our most rewarding and number #1 program thrust is our investment into our Top Teens of America youth program.

Our organization’s national and local partners include the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., (NCNW), the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Sickle Cell Disease Awareness and promoting literacy in our communities. The Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc also. focuses on mentoring and awarding scholarships to develop future leaders (Top Teens).

Our national theme denotes our 56 years of commitment “Celebrating our Legacy: TLOD Transforming Lives and Making a Difference…. One Teen, One Lady and One Community at a Time (TLC)”.  We are committed to transforming and improving wherever we are needed in our communities, as well as ourselves, through service and leadership.

The Prince George’s County Chapter of Top Ladies was chartered on August 30, 2009. Since our chartering, we have inducted over 168 Top Ladies and 128 Top Teens increasing membership over 250% and completing over 100+ community service projects/activities. We are proud to note our chapter has raised and donated over $38,000 to support TLOD’s programs and projects including the award of approximately $8,000 in scholarships for higher education for 20 graduating seniors.

If you have a heart to serve youth and adults and live or work in the Prince George’s County area, perhaps TLOD and the Prince George’s County chapter is the organization and chapter for you!
