Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD)

Hello and welcome to the Prince George’s County Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD), Inc. website. We are so excited to invite you to explore our site and learn more about who we are and what TLOD is.  Through the website, we have shared information on our programs and projects including our mission statement and organizational goals.

Serving others through volunteerism has been a part of the TLOD culture since our inception in 1964 in Tyler, Texas. We invite you to participate in the various programs and activities we offer throughout the neighboring communities of Prince George’s County (Md.).  We also invite to inquire about membership into the Prince George’s County Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.

TLOD is a 501©3 non-profit, humanitarian volunteer organization which has five (5) major program thrusts and many ongoing projects. The programs includes: Improving the Status of Women, Community Beautification, Community Partnerships, Enhancing the Lives of Senior Citizens and our most rewarding and number #1thrust,Top Teens of America.


​Our organization partners with the NAACP, NCNW, UNCF, Sickle Cell Disease ​Association, AARP and the Black Women’s Agenda to eradicate disparities which strike the African American population and to promote the missions of the various organizations. TLOD also focuses on scholarships, awards and literacy to enhance the lives of youth and adults.


Our National Theme notes our commitment to “Investing in V.A.L.U.E.S. that Support, Enhance and Sustain”.  We are investing in our communities, as well as ourselves, through Volunteer service, Advocacy and accountability, Leadership development and succession planning, Unity and collaboration, Engagement and empowerment and Social responsibility and sisterly concern.  

The Prince George’s County Chapter of Top Ladies was chartered on August 30, 2009. Since our chartering, we have inducted over 110 Top Ladies and 95 Top Teens increasing membership over 250% and completing over 100+ community service projects/activities. We are proud to note our chapter has raised and donated over $30,000 to support TLOD’s programs and projects including the award of approximately $5,000 in scholarships for higher education for 13 graduating seniors.
